About The Position

The Center Director leads a preschool child care center and oversees school operations. The Director promotes children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth, works with staff to create a warm and inspiring environment, and keeps parents informed and engaged. The role includes managing staff, supporting implementation of the company-provided curriculum, ensuring compliance with company and state licensing standards, fostering community partnerships, and helping children learn in an educational, caring, and safe environment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Must meet state education requirements and the center/school’s requirements.
• At least 2 years of Center Director experience in a licensed child care facility.
• North Carolina Level 3 credential.

Responsibilities

• Plan staff work schedules, evaluate staff performance, and develop performance improvement plans.
• Assist with implementation of the company-provided curriculum by coaching teachers, communicating standards, and interpreting standards for them.
• Ensure the school operates in accordance with company and state licensing standards.
• Promote a positive partnership with the surrounding community.
• Create an educational, caring, and safe environment that supports children’s learning and development.
• Recruit, select, and retain quality staff.
• Keep parents informed and engaged.
