Cemetery Groundskeeper
About The Position
The Cemetery Groundskeeper at Everstory Partners is responsible for the care, maintenance, and repair of cemetery property, as well as supporting the safety and security of employees and visitors. The role performs landscaping and general maintenance, maintains and safely operates equipment and machinery, and assists with funeral service functions, cemetery vault installation, and installation of headstones or memorials. Snow removal may be required where applicable. The Groundskeeper also performs other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent. The position calls for a dedicated, reliable, hard-working person with attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality customer service. Employees are expected to demonstrate compassion, customer focus, and ethical conduct. The position requires availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- High school equivalency required.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read and execute memos and directives from a supervisor or management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Valid state driver’s license required.
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance, including weed-whacking and lawn mowing.
- Maintain equipment.
- Perform functions related to funeral services.
- Operate machinery appropriately and safely.
- Install or assist in installing cemetery vaults.
- Install headstones or memorials as needed.
- Perform day-to-day general maintenance duties.
- Handle snow removal where applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
