Cemetery Groundskeeper
About The Position
The Cemetery Groundskeeper at Everstory Partners is responsible for the care, maintenance, and repair of cemetery property, as well as supporting the safety and security of employees and visitors. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, hard work, and a commitment to providing high-quality service to customers. The Groundskeeper also supports funeral services and cemetery installations, operates and maintains equipment, and performs general maintenance, including snow removal when applicable. The position may require work on some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- High school equivalency required.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read and execute memos and directives from a supervisor and/or management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with interruptions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance, including weed-whacking and lawn mowing.
- Maintain equipment.
- Perform functions related to funeral services.
- Operate machinery safely and appropriately.
- Install or assist with installing cemetery vaults.
- Install headstones or memorials as needed.
- Handle day-to-day general maintenance duties.
- Perform snow removal when applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
