About The Position

This position is responsible for transporting product for The Arthur Companies. The driver operates company-owned or leased trucks, handles required reporting and certifications, maintains company equipment, and follows commercial driving and safety regulations. The position may include loading or unloading product and other tasks as assigned. The Arthur Companies is a privately owned, diversified agricultural business that includes grain, agronomy services, birdseed, and fertilizer operations. The company has a tradition of customer service dating back to 1906.

Requirements

CDL Class A license with a medical card.
Acceptable driving record.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to work as a team player.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
Ability to work in dust.
Ability to open traps on trailers or trucks.
Ability to climb a ladder of varying heights.

Nice To Haves

Three years of driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate company-owned and/or leased trucks.
Complete all required reporting.
Maintain certifications required by DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
Maintain company property in excellent condition.
Inspect the truck before and after trips and request repairs as needed.
Read bills of lading to determine assignments.
Secure the trailer during transit.
Assist with or take individual responsibility for loading or unloading the truck.
Service the truck with oil, fuel, and other required fluids.
Drive in accordance with commercial driving regulations.
Follow applicable traffic laws.
Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
