CDL Driver - Automated Side Loader (Green Cove Springs, FL)
About The Position
The CDL Driver operates an automated side-loader commercial vehicle on allocated routes that include roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys. The role includes conducting pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections, operating vehicle controls and joystick equipment safely, monitoring vehicle readiness, completing paperwork, and helping ensure services are delivered on time and professionally. The driver must follow applicable safety procedures and Department of Transportation qualifications. Garbage or recycling experience is preferred. FCC is a drug-free workplace; substance abuse testing is required during initial onboarding and through random testing for continued employment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Class B commercial driver’s license.
- Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
- Must meet all qualifications defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
- Clearinghouse profile required.
- Must complete substance abuse testing during initial onboarding and random testing for continued employment.

- Garbage or recycling experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Complete pre- and post-operation commercial vehicle checks in line with FCC regulations, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components.
- Safely operate commercial vehicles on allocated routes, including roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
- Manually and/or automatically operate controls and joystick equipment in compliance with FCC safety regulations and procedures.
- Communicate courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers to ensure services are performed in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor vehicle status to maintain operational readiness and reduce downtime.
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately.
- Maintain departmental productivity standards so clients are serviced in a timely and effective way.
- Follow and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
