About The Position

The CDL Driver operates an automated side-loader commercial vehicle on allocated routes through roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys. The driver conducts pre- and post-operation vehicle checks, operates the vehicle and its controls safely, monitors vehicle readiness, completes paperwork, and helps ensure services are delivered promptly and professionally. The role follows applicable safety regulations and procedures and requires compliance with Department of Transportation qualifications and substance-abuse testing requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Class B commercial driver's license.
• Ability to lift or carry heavy objects as necessary.
• Must meet all qualifications defined under Department of Transportation regulations.
• Clearinghouse profile required.
• Must complete substance-abuse testing as part of initial onboarding and undergo random testing for continued employment.

Nice To Haves

• Garbage or recycling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre- and post-operation checks of the commercial vehicle in line with FCC regulations, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety devices, gauges, and other components.
• Safely operate commercial vehicles on allocated routes, including roads, residential neighborhoods, and alleys.
• Operate controls and joystick equipment manually and/or automatically in compliance with FCC safety regulations and procedures.
• Communicate courteously with co-workers, dispatchers, and customers to support timely, professional service.
• Monitor vehicle status to maintain operational readiness and reduce downtime.
• Complete required paperwork and reports accurately.
• Maintain departmental productivity standards so clients are serviced in a timely and effective manner.
• Follow and enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
