About The Position

Associated Grocers is hiring a CDL-A Driver to deliver groceries throughout all six New England states. Drivers average about 300 miles per trip and make approximately three to four stops per day. Unloading is required at each stop, with delivery methods including pallet deliveries using docks or liftgates, two-wheeler deliveries, and roller deliveries. The fleet consists of Freightliner tractors and refrigerated trailers measuring 36, 45, 48, or 53 feet. Typical shifts last 10–11 hours, with start times between 1 a.m. and 5 a.m. Hours must be flexible, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime is paid after eight hours of driving daily. Applicants invited to an in-person interview must complete a driving test and provide their driving record. Pre-employment procedures include a background check, DOT drug screen, physical, and lift test. Strike conditions exist.

Requirements

At least 21 years old.
Current CDL-A license without restrictions; a license without an automatic restriction is preferred.
At least two years of CDL-A driving experience is preferred.
DOT certified.
Excellent customer service skills.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
Clean motor vehicle record.
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Driving and unloading truck experience; unloading experience is preferred.
