About The Position

The Server / Bartender helps create an exceptional dining experience for Home Run Inn guests by taking and serving food and beverage orders, preparing beverages, and providing friendly, attentive service. The role supports smooth operations in the dining room and bar, helps guests choose food and drinks, and contributes to a welcoming, genuine atmosphere. The position involves working in a busy restaurant environment, collaborating with restaurant teammates, maintaining clean and guest-ready service areas, processing payments, and following workplace health and safety requirements. Flexible availability is needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old to pour and serve alcohol.
Strong communication, multitasking, customer service, and teamwork skills.
Ability to constantly lift, reach, bend, and stoop.
Ability to stand for extended periods, up to approximately five hours.
Working knowledge of the predominant language of the guests.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Food Handler certification required within 30 days of hire.
BASSET certification required within 30 days of hire.
Safety shoes required within 30 days of hire.

Previous serving and/or bartending experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet and interact with guests in a friendly, welcoming manner.
Take food and beverage orders accurately and deliver them in a timely manner.
Present menus, answer guest questions, and recommend food and beverages.
Suggest menu items, specials, and upcoming events.
Relay orders to the kitchen and serve food and beverages from the kitchen and service bars.
Assist guests with requests and help ensure an enjoyable dining experience.
Monitor alcohol consumption and verify age requirements for responsible alcohol service.
Mix, prepare, and serve beverages using Home Run Inn standard recipes.
Assist with serving food and beverages to tables.
Pre-bus tables and keep the dining area ready for guests.
Set up and take down buffet tables when needed.
Ensure food and beverage orders are accurate and properly presented.
Operate the POS system and accurately process guest payments.
Accept payments and provide correct change.
Monitor bar and beverage equipment and systems.
Request stock and monitor inventory levels.
Maintain cleanliness of the bar, service station, and guest areas during shifts and at the end of the night.
Use POS systems, calculators, and common cleaning supplies.
Complete assigned opening, closing, and side work duties.
Communicate effectively with servers, bartenders, kitchen teammates, hosts, and management.
Work with the team to maintain an efficient service flow.
Promote and follow workplace health and safety requirements.
Support the restaurant team where needed and perform other related duties as assigned.
