About The Position

The CDL Driver delivers and picks up containers at customer locations, providing safe, incident-free service while maintaining positive customer rapport. The role involves operating a commercial truck equipped with a lift mechanism, inspecting and maintaining the vehicle and lift, handling customer paperwork and payments, and supporting container and storage-center operations as needed. The position typically reports to a Market Manager or Territory Manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class B license without an air-brake restriction.
• Maintain a current and valid driver's license.
• Meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or be able to obtain a certification valid for at least one year.
• Have math skills sufficient to perform the required duties.
• Be able to attend the required two-week New Hire Driver Training Program.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, or experience may be considered.

• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a lift mechanism to load and unload containers safely at customer locations.
• Perform and log daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the commercial vehicle and lift.
• Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs.
• Use a company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation.
• Operate a forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery.
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customers.
• Communicate customer questions and issues to the Driver Lead or Market Manager and prepare driver notes as needed.
• Repair containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center.
• Provide backup for storage-center functions when needed.
• Keep the inside and outside of the truck cab clean and free from debris.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
