About The Position

A CDL B Driver safely operates a collection truck and provides prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers. The driver ensures the vehicle meets Company safety standards before operation, complies with Company, state, and federal regulations, and completes daily vehicle condition reports so defects can be repaired promptly.

The role involves inspecting and maintaining the vehicle, driving assigned routes to customers and disposal facilities, loading and disposing of refuse, monitoring waste and vehicle conditions, completing route and safety reports, and interacting professionally with customers and coworkers. The position also requires following safety and productivity standards and participating in the Company’s ReSOP program. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is stated in the job title.

Requirements

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
• Good customer service skills and a professional, courteous, cooperative, honest, and trustworthy approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls; report safety issues.
• Safely operate a heavy truck on designated routes and to disposal sites; follow route sheets and maps and service assigned customers.
• Operate manual and/or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate the compactor, and dispose of collected material at designated facilities.
• Interact courteously and professionally with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure routes are serviced promptly.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them according to departmental procedures.
• Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material.
• Clean areas affected by accidental waste spills while following applicable safety standards and policies.
• Monitor vehicle condition, clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on disposal trips where appropriate, and keep the vehicle operationally ready.
• Complete route and productivity sheets, vehicle condition reports, and other required reports.
• Meet departmental productivity standards so customers are serviced efficiently and on time.
• Follow required safety policies and procedures and participate actively in the Company’s ReSOP program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
