CDL Crane Rigger (San Antonio / Pleasanton, TX)
About The Position
Sterling Crane USA is hiring a CDL Crane Rigger at its Pleasanton Branch. Sterling Crane USA, founded in 1954, provides operated and bare rentals, sales, parts, and service in the heavy lift industry. The role works closely with crane operators, hauls heavy equipment, and assists with building mobile cranes under the direction of the Operations Manager. The employee must follow safety procedures and may work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. The position involves substantial standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting, lifting, and using the arms and hands to handle materials and signal crane operators. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds and be available for overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDL A.
- NCCER or NCCCO crane rigger certification.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
- Successfully pass post-offer drug and physical screens and meet company background and motor vehicle record requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Strong customer service skills for communicating with onsite project managers.
- Strong knowledge of math applications, weights, and measurements.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to identify and resolve safety issues.
- Willingness to follow safety procedures.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
Responsibilities
- Inspect all applicable rigging.
- Haul heavy materials and equipment.
- Understand rigging equipment capacities and weight limits.
- Signal the crane operator during lifts with directional or placement instructions.
- Climb structures while wearing a safety harness to guide and position loads.
- Ensure rigging is safe and reliable before hoisting or lifting.
- Assist with building mobile cranes.
