The CDL B Local Delivery Truck Driver runs daily local routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks and unloading products at each stop in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. The driver operates in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck to the assigned lot at the end of the route. The role may occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other duties assigned by a supervisor or manager. Drivers are expected to operate safely and efficiently in varied traffic and weather conditions, meet route and productivity targets, deliver products to designated customer storage areas, verify deliveries, handle customer concerns, and complete required vehicle inspections and DOT responsibilities. The position involves frequent physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and climbing on and off the truck.
