CDL-A truck driver role serving an Eastern Idaho-based account with store deliveries for one retail customer. Freight is based out of northern Utah and covers Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada, and California. Drivers haul dry and refrigerated trailers in automatic trucks and do not unload the trailer. Loads are round trips, with drivers home every week. Dispatches operate day and night, including weekends and holidays, and drivers typically run 2,500 to 3,000 miles per week. Entry-level drivers are eligible, including drivers just out of CDL school. Training begins with a recruiter phone call to review the applicant’s license and record, followed by orientation lasting no more than two days. The company pays for the hotel, reimburses the bus ticket, and provides $300 once hired. Drivers then spend four to six weeks with a mentor learning backing, trip planning, logs, and fueling before receiving their own truck. Average pay is $1,300 to $1,500 per week, or $60,000 to $75,000 per year. Training pay is $650 per week. Additional pay includes $10 for the first stop, $15 for each subsequent stop, and $20 extra on loads under 250 miles. Benefits begin on day 31.
