About The Position

NIS Express is hiring entry-level Class A CDL drivers in Metairie, LA. If you have completed 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school, you qualify for our paid one-on-one training program. This program includes 3 to 5 weeks of paid one-on-one training covering tractor-trailer operation, road safety, ELD compliance, pre and post-trip inspections, and company policies. You will be paired with a dedicated trainer from day one and will go solo only after completing supervised miles and evaluations. The role involves operating a Class A tractor-trailer, transporting dry van freight (100% no-touch, ~70% drop and hook), meeting delivery appointments, and maintaining on-time performance. Accurate ELD logs, DVIRs, and trip reports are essential, as are daily vehicle inspections and professional communication with dispatch and customers.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Completion of 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school
• Acceptable driving record with a focus on safety
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Transport no-touch dry van freight – approximately 70% drop and hook
• Meet delivery appointments and maintain on-time performance
• Keep accurate ELD logs, DVIRs and trip reports
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report issues immediately
• Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers
