CDL-A Shuttle Driver – HOME DAILY!! (4834 T2T HF)
About The Position
Universal Dedicated of Detroit is seeking reliable CDL-A drivers for local shuttle routes based in Detroit, Michigan. This union position offers steady freight, consistent schedules, and daily home time. Drivers transport materials between terminal and customer locations and handle touch freight limited to chaining and strapping loads; there is no loading or unloading. The role has second-shift openings from 2:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with overtime typically ranging from 1 to 5 hours per week. Routes are bid by seniority every six months. Recent graduates must complete the Train-to-Train (T2T) program; experienced drivers may be exempt based on prior experience. Pay is $22.50 per hour for experienced drivers and $21.00 per hour for drivers with 0–1 year of experience, increasing to $24.25 per hour after one year.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record with a strong safety history.
- Ability to meet DOT requirements.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Recent graduates are required to complete the T2T (Train-to-Train) program; experienced drivers may be exempt based on prior experience.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport materials between terminal and customer locations.
- Follow delivery schedules based on customer production needs.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Maintain DOT compliance at all times.
- Communicate with dispatch and operations teams.
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
