About The Position

This position is for CDL-A school graduates who have a CDL-A but no prior driving experience. New drivers will start on a dedicated Ohio regional lane that runs out and back to Ohio. A planner will ensure consistent movement and drivers will remain close to home. The training process involves riding with an experienced driver trainer on real loads, with a starting pay of $850 per week during training. Upon completion of training and sign-off from the trainer, drivers will move into their own truck and receive full pay, with a guaranteed $1,000 per week for the first 3 months of solo driving. The job involves dry van freight, out and back to Ohio, with approximately 1,800 miles per week. Drivers will have a weekly 34-hour reset at home and will handle drop and hook, live loads, live unloads, and preloads. Average weekly earnings are between $1,200 and $1,400. The pay structure includes 56 cents per mile to start, increasing to 59 cents at 6 months and 60 cents after a year. Additional pay includes $40 extra on loads under 100 miles, and $15 for stop pay and performance bonus.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Completed 120+ hours at an accredited CDL school
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 2 years
  • Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Live within 120 miles of a hiring city: Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, Canton, Pittsburgh
