About The Position

This is an opportunity for CDL-A school graduates with no prior driving experience to begin their career. Drivers in the Bend area can join a western regional fleet that provides on-the-road training for new CDL holders. Trainees are paid weekly during the training period, and their first months of solo driving are backed by a guaranteed check. The job involves dry van freight across western states, west of the Mississippi, with approximately 2,000 miles driven per week. Drivers can expect to be home every two weeks, with day and night dispatch and weekend driving required. The average weekly earnings are around $1,500, with a starting rate of 50 cents per mile and $15 stop pay, plus a monthly driver performance bonus.

Requirements

• Class A CDL
• Must be 21 or older
• Completed 120+ hours at an accredited CDL school
• No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
• Live within 200 miles of Troutdale, OR

Responsibilities

• Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads
• Move into your own truck on full pay once your trainer signs off
• Drive dry van freight across the western states, west of the Mississippi
• Drive approximately 2,000 miles per week
• Be home every 2 weeks
• Handle day and night dispatch
• Perform weekend driving
