About The Position
This position is for CDL-A holders who are new to driving and seeking paid training. Drivers will start with a Northeast fleet out of Syracuse, NY, and will not be required to drive into New York City. The role involves hauling dry van freight within the Northeast and New England regions, with opportunities for flexible home time. Most loads are drop and hook, with some live loads and unloads. The company offers a clear path from paid training to solo driving with guaranteed weekly pay and mileage pay that increases with company tenure.
Requirements
- Class A CDL
- At least 21 years old
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Live within 200 miles of Syracuse, NY
- CDL-A in hand with 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school (for new drivers)
- 6 months OTR experience in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years (for experienced drivers)
Responsibilities
- Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads during the training period.
- Haul dry van freight in the Northeast and New England.
- Drive between 1,500 to 2,800 miles per week.
- Manage flexible home time, with weekends off if 1,900 miles are completed in a week.
- Perform mostly drop and hook operations, with some live loads and unloads.
