Drive regional refrigerated freight between Utah, Nevada, California, and the Pacific Northwest, serving lanes connecting the Salt Lake area with Las Vegas, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Portland, and the Seattle area. Drivers travel approximately 1,900 to 2,100 miles per week and return home every two weeks. The position is open to new CDL graduates and experienced drivers. New drivers complete 3 to 5 weeks (200 to 250 hours) of mentor training, earning $800 per week; after sign-off, they drive solo on the same lanes. Drivers with at least 6 months of recent experience may go solo after orientation. Team positions are also available for drivers who already have a partner. Solo drivers average $1,200 to $1,300 per week, with mileage pay starting at $0.51 per mile and increasing with verifiable experience. New solo drivers receive a $1,000 weekly guarantee for their first three months. Additional compensation includes a monthly bonus, $15 stop pay, and extra pay for short loads on a sliding scale. Orientation lasts two days or less and pays $300 after hiring; a one-way bus ticket to orientation is reimbursed with a receipt. Drivers use late-model tractors averaging about 1.5 years old, with automatic and 10-speed options. One approved dog weighing up to 40 pounds is allowed after training, and an adult rider program is available for solo drivers. Medical, prescription, dental, and vision plans, along with other listed benefits, begin after 30 days.
