Drive refrigerated, no-touch freight on regional lanes throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. Drivers back into the dock, wait for the dock crew to unload, and then continue their route; drivers do not unload trailers. The fleet averages $1,300 to $1,500 in weekly pay, with at least 1,900 solo miles per week and up to 2,500 or more. Drivers come home every two weeks. New CDL graduates receive 3 to 5 weeks of paid mentor training, totaling about 200 to 250 hours, at $650 per week. After sign-off, they receive their own tractor. New solo drivers have a $1,000 weekly guarantee for their first three months. Experienced drivers with at least six months of recent tractor-trailer experience skip training and run solo after orientation. Driving teams are also welcome and typically run 3,000 to 4,000 miles per week. Orientation lasts two days or less and is paid at $300 after hire. Bus fare to orientation is reimbursed with a receipt. The fleet uses late-model tractors averaging about 1.5 years old, with automatic and 10-speed transmissions. Drivers may bring one approved dog weighing up to 40 pounds after training. An adult rider program is available for solo drivers. Medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, life and disability insurance, and a free online degree for the driver and one dependent are available after 30 days.
