About The Position

The CDL A or B Local Delivery Driver makes safe, complete, accurate, and on-time deliveries to customers while complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) and other applicable regulations. Deliveries are local, and drivers are home every night. Drivers are guaranteed at least 40 hours per week, whether or not weather conditions allow deliveries. The role is based at SCP Distributors, LLC, 2900 Dawn Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32207, and works a day shift. The position requires safe operation of delivery vehicles, loading and unloading products, documenting deliveries and payments, maintaining vehicle condition, and following state and federal regulations. Drivers may need to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 100 pounds and should provide excellent customer service. Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have a valid commercial driver's license; a HAZMAT endorsement is preferred.
Have an MVR and Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) indicating no more than two combined violations or at-fault accidents in the past three years.
Be able to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Have excellent customer service skills.
Have good written and verbal communication skills.
Be able to carry out instructions with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with PCs and other material handling equipment.
Moffett, Skelly, or Air Brake experience.
HAZMAT endorsement.

Responsibilities

Make deliveries using the most effective route to ensure orders are delivered on time.
Load and unload the vehicle, ensure products are properly secured, and separate hazardous material appropriately.
Collect payments and accurately document deliveries.
Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR).
Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and inform a supervisor of any maintenance needed.
Ensure the vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and presentable daily.
Increase job and product knowledge on an ongoing basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
