About The Position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is hiring a Local Delivery Driver to deliver products to customers in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The driver makes an average of 10–12 stops per day, handles freight and paperwork, and provides excellent customer service. The role includes accurately counting and recording products delivered and picked up, preparing hazardous-material shipping papers in accordance with DOT regulations, and conducting and reporting pre-trip and post-trip inspections. The driver identifies vehicle repair and maintenance needs and builds relationships with internal and external customers to support business goals and customer needs. The position also involves continuing to learn how Linde’s business operates and succeeds. The schedule is first shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
Two years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a truck driving school.
Valid Class A or B CDL.
Must be 21 years or older.
Current CDL hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two years.
No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten years.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate.
Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Deliver products to customers, averaging 10–12 stops per day, while handling freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service.
Accurately count and record the quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
Complete hazardous-material shipping papers in accordance with DOT regulations.
Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Identify the need for timely vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet business goals and customer needs.
Continuously build knowledge of how Linde’s business operates and succeeds.
