About The Position

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is hiring a Local Delivery Driver in South Bend, Indiana. The driver delivers products to customers, typically making 10–12 stops per day, handling freight, completing paperwork, and providing customer service. The role includes accurately counting and recording products delivered and picked up, preparing hazardous-material shipping papers in accordance with DOT regulations, conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and identifying vehicle repair or maintenance needs. The driver builds relationships with internal and external customers and develops knowledge of Linde’s business and operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Proficiency in reading and writing in English.
Two years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a truck driving school.
Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Must have a hazardous materials endorsement on the CDL or obtain one within 60 days of hire.
No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two years.
No alcohol-related convictions within the past ten years.
Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate.
Ability to push, pull, move, and lift at least 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

Deliver products to customers, averaging 10–12 stops per day.
Handle freight, complete paperwork, and provide excellent customer service.
Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
Complete hazardous-material shipping papers in accordance with DOT regulations.
Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Identify the need for timely vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to support business goals and customer needs.
Continuously build knowledge of Linde’s business and operations.
