About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a safety-conscious Class A Linehaul Driver to transfer freight between specified customer and terminal locations in a timely manner. The role is based in St. Louis, Missouri, and runs a dedicated route from St. Louis to Kansas City, Kansas. Drivers work Monday through Friday with a 6 p.m. start, are home daily, and have weekends off. Compensation is $0.60 per mile for singles. The position involves operating a tractor-trailer over long distances, connecting and hauling trailers, and completing required shipping and regulatory paperwork.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL.
At least 21 years of age.
At least one year of commercial driving experience.
No DUI or DWI convictions in the past three years.
No more than three traffic violations in the past three years.
Must have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain them; renewals are reimbursable.
Successful completion of a pre-employment skills assessment.
Ability to frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
Ability to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for up to 20 feet.
Ability to hook and unhook commercial vehicle combinations and perform the associated manual tasks.

Responsibilities

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Hook up and haul trailers between customer and terminal locations as directed by dispatch or an immediate supervisor.
Ensure shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipments to their delivery points.
Operate a tractor-trailer combination for extended periods over long distances.
Perform vehicle-related tasks including manually lowering and raising landing gear, operating fifth-wheel release levers, locking and releasing pintle hooks, attaching and releasing safety chains, opening and closing cargo doors, and fueling vehicles and checking oil and coolant levels.
