About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a safety-conscious Class A Linehaul Driver based in Irving, Texas. The role transfers freight between customer and terminal locations as directed by dispatch or a supervisor, performs required vehicle and paperwork procedures, and operates tractor-trailer combinations over long distances. The route is a floating route from Irving to Amarillo or Midland. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with an 8 p.m. start. Drivers are home daily and have weekends off.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience.
• No DUI or DWI convictions in the past 3 years.
• No more than 3 traffic violations in the past 3 years.
• Have Hazmat and Tanker endorsements or be willing to obtain them; endorsement renewals are reimbursable.
• Successfully complete a pre-employment skills assessment.
• Frequently enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
• Carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Perform physical vehicle tasks including hooking and unhooking commercial vehicle combinations, operating landing gear and fifth-wheel release levers, locking and releasing pintle-hooks, attaching and releasing safety chains, opening and closing cargo doors, climbing into and out of vehicles, and fueling vehicles and checking oil and coolant levels.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Hook up and haul trailers between customer and terminal locations as instructed by dispatch or an immediate supervisor.
• Ensure shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipments to their delivery points.
• Operate a tractor-trailer combination for extended periods over long distances.
• Complete paperwork required by government regulations and company procedures and policies.
