CDL-A Flatbed Steel Hauler
About The Position
If you have flatbed experience and enjoy hauling steel, this position offers premium weekly earnings, dependable freight, and a schedule that gets you home every weekend. Drivers haul dedicated stainless-steel freight from a customer near Calvert, Alabama before picking up available backhaul freight that keeps trucks moving efficiently toward the next outbound load. This account primarily moves smaller stainless-steel coils and flat stainless-steel sheets. Freight is primarily live loaded and live unloaded, and drivers stay with the same trailer throughout each trip. Approximately 75% of shipments require tarping using lightweight six-foot drop tarps. Tarp pay is included within the account's overall compensation program.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum one year of OTR experience within the last five years
- Minimum six months of flatbed experience
- Steel-hauling experience
- Current coil-hauling certification
- Experience with tarping and load securement
- Acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Haul dedicated stainless-steel freight
- Pick up available backhaul freight
- Tarping approximately 75% of shipments using lightweight six-foot drop tarps
- Load and unload freight
