CDL-A Flatbed Steel Hauler
About The Position
This CDL-A flatbed position is built for experienced steel haulers looking for premium weekly pay, consistent freight, and dependable weekend home time. Drivers haul dedicated stainless-steel freight from a customer near Calvert, Alabama, then pick up available backhaul freight that keeps trucks moving toward the next outbound load instead of returning empty. Assigned newer-model Kenworth T680 tractors are paired with 2025 Extreme 48-foot flatbed trailers equipped with 12 winches, straps, and two lightweight six-foot drop tarps. Drivers stay with the same trailer throughout each trip.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license required
- Minimum one year of OTR experience within the last five years
- Minimum six months of flatbed experience
- Steel-hauling experience required
- Current coil-hauling certification required
- Experience with tarping and load securement required
- Acceptable driving record required
Responsibilities
- Haul dedicated stainless-steel freight from a customer near Calvert, Alabama.
- Pick up available backhaul freight.
- Tarp approximately 75% of loads using lighter drop tarps.
- Manage load securement.
