Drive regional flatbed routes, typically within five states, hauling pipe, flat steel, coil, and building materials. Drivers average 2,000 to 2,500 miles per week, with 40% to 50% of loads requiring tarping. The position offers a truck assigned exclusively to the driver, which may be taken home on days off, and weekends at home with a full 34-hour reset. Dispatch is non-forced, with 24/7 support. Drivers who choose to stay out may earn up to $2,000 per week. Average weekly gross pay is $1,400 to $1,600 for drivers home on weekends. Compensation includes 27% of the load, a $300 weekly non-taxed per diem, $40 tarp pay, $16 per hour for detention, $100 per day for breakdowns, and $50 per day for layovers. Pay is deposited every Friday and is not held back. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is paid in installments: $1,500 after the first load, $1,500 at six months, and $2,000 at one year. Trucks are automatic Cascadias or T680s, three years old or newer. Trucks from 2023 and newer have inverters; trucks also have bunk heaters, and idling is allowed. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage beginning the first of the month after 30 days; a 401(k) with company match; $10,000 of free life insurance; paid vacation; paid orientation with hotel, meals, and travel covered; and free riders and pets from the first day.
