The CDL-A Flatbed Driver hauls pipe, OCTG, flat steel, coil, and building materials, primarily on regional routes across five states. Drivers typically run 2,000 to 2,500 miles per week, and 40% to 50% of loads require tarping. The role offers a truck assigned exclusively to the driver and home every weekend, with routes generally running Monday through Friday or Saturday for a 34-hour reset. Drivers may choose to skip home weekends and earn up to $2,000 per week. Dispatch is non-forced and flexible, with 24/7 support. Average weekly gross pay is $1,400 to $1,600, with compensation at 27% of every load. Additional pay includes $40 for each tarped load, $300 per week in non-taxed per diem, detention pay of $16 per hour after two hours, breakdown pay of $100 per day, and layover pay of $50 per day. Pay is issued every Friday by direct deposit and is not held back. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is paid in installments: $1,500 after the first load, $1,500 at six months, and $2,000 at one year. Drivers use a late-model automatic Cascadia or T680 that is three years old or newer. The assigned truck may be parked at home on days off. Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage starting the first of the month after 30 days; a 401(k) with company match; free $10,000 life insurance; and paid vacation. The company also provides paid three-day orientation, with hotel, meals, and travel covered. Riders and pets may ride free from day one.
