About The Position

DSV is hiring a full-time local truck driver based in Canal Winchester, Ohio. The driver handles local pickup and delivery routes within an assigned service area, operates a Class A commercial vehicle safely and in compliance with applicable regulations, and provides professional service while transporting freight. The role is on the AM shift, offers home-daily routes, and includes no-touch freight. Drivers may make multiple stops per day and handle sensitive, high-value, or time-critical freight. The listed base pay range is $32.50–$35.00 per hour; eligible new hires may receive a $5,000 sign-on and retention bonus under the program terms. The position involves completing route and shipping documentation, vehicle inspections, cargo securement, customer interaction, and coordination with dispatch and terminal operations. Work takes place in a truck cab, outdoors at customer locations and terminals, and on public roads. Drivers may encounter changing weather, diesel fumes, airborne particles, noise, vibration, congested yards, loading docks, tight delivery locations, and time-sensitive schedules. The job requires regular vehicle operation and physical freight-handling activities, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

Class A CDL.
At least 2 years of verified driving experience within the past 4 years.
At least 1 year of medical certification and compliance with minimum ICC physical qualification requirements under 49 CFR Part 391.41.
Obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 90 days of employment; the company covers the cost.
No positive drug or alcohol test result in the past 5 years.
No accident involving bodily injury within the past 3 years.
No DUI/DWI, reckless driving, or speeding ticket of 12 mph or higher within the past 5 years.
Ability to perform the stated vehicle-operation and physical freight-handling duties, with or without reasonable accommodation.

At least 3 years of driving experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform local pickup and delivery routes within an assigned service area and return home daily.
Safely operate a CDL-A commercial vehicle in accordance with DOT and company regulations.
Complete multiple daily stops, including pickups, deliveries, and potential returns.
Provide careful handling and white-glove service for sensitive, high-value, or time-critical freight.
Communicate professionally with customers and maintain high service standards at delivery points.
Complete shipping documents, proof-of-delivery records, and electronic logs accurately.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles.
Back trailers into docks and maneuver in tight or congested delivery locations.
Secure cargo to prevent damage during transport.
Communicate route updates, delays, and service issues to dispatch.
Ensure freight is staged, loaded, and unloaded according to customer and operational requirements.
Identify and promptly report mechanical issues or safety concerns.
Follow DOT requirements, including hours-of-service and drug/alcohol policies.
Assist with loading, unloading, or dock coordination when needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support local operations.
