About The Position

This local dedicated driving position is based at the distribution center in Opelika, Alabama. Drivers run store routes to Birmingham, Atlanta, South Georgia, and Southern Tennessee, starting and ending their routes at the Opelika distribution center. Drivers are home every night and handle no-touch freight. New CDL holders may receive paid training with an experienced trainer. The position uses slip-seat trucks and may involve waiting at stores and on backhauls. Drivers may work a five-day or six-day schedule. The six-day schedule pays $1,300 to $1,550 weekly gross, while the five-day schedule pays $800 to $1,200 weekly gross. Additional compensation includes stop pay, short-load pay, and a performance bonus. Day and night shifts are available, and holidays are worked.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must live within 40 miles of Opelika.
New drivers must have 120 or more hours at an accredited CDL school.
Experienced drivers must have six months of OTR experience in the last 12 months.
No more than two moving violations in the past two years.
No major preventable accidents in the past five years.
No DUI/DWI in the past five to ten years.
Must pass hair and urine drug testing.

Responsibilities

Drive dedicated store routes to Birmingham, Atlanta, South Georgia, and Southern Tennessee.
Begin and end runs at the Opelika distribution center.
Transport freight without unloading it by hand.
Work assigned day or night shifts and work holidays.
Complete routes that may include waiting at stores and on backhauls.
