Catholic Elementary Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time 2nd Grade Teacher for its classical homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition in Nashville, Tennessee, for the 2026–2027 academic year. The role involves teaching in a formal Socratic classroom on Mondays and Thursdays in a highly structured environment. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors receive training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The position is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. Applicants do not need teaching certification or formal teaching experience. Relevant backgrounds may include homeschooling or working with homeschool children, parish ministry, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching one's own children, or teaching in a classical or private school. Teachers must prepare for classes at home and arrive prepared to teach. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and live the faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. All staff must complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching. No additional vacation days are provided; accommodations are made for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
- Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to their state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Must complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
- Must be willing to prepare for classes at home.
- Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required.
