About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking part-time elementary teachers to teach 3rd or 6th Grade in a classical, Catholic, self-contained classroom at its center in Lapeer, Michigan. Teachers teach all subjects and assist with or lead one or two specials, such as art, music, PE, or drama. The academy provides curriculum, lesson plans, grading guidelines, and training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required. The academy is a classical homeschool organization in the Catholic tradition, providing instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Teachers work up to 14 hours per week and must prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment. Childcare/nursery is provided. Staff must complete a background check and mandatory training before working in the classroom.

Requirements

Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
Willingness to prepare for classes at home and teach in a highly structured environment.
Clear background check.
Available Mondays and Thursdays, 9:30 a.m.–4:15 p.m.

Nice To Haves

Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
Experience in Catholic parish ministry.
Experience teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
