Catholic Substitute Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time classroom substitute to teach in a classical, Catholic classroom at its Pelham, New Hampshire location for up to 13 hours per week. The academy is a national classical homeschool organization in the Catholic tradition, offering instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required; training is provided. Curriculum and grading guidelines are supplied, and tutors are trained in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. The position is hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. Center hours are Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. No additional vacation days are given, with accommodations for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Have a deep love for the Catholic faith and live the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
- Have strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- Have a traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
Nice To Haves
- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
- Experience in parish ministry or teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
- Experience teaching one's own children.
- Experience teaching in a classical or private school.
