Catholic Elementary Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time 2nd Grade Teacher for the 2026–2027 academic year in Nashville, Tennessee. The teacher will instruct students in a classical and Catholic classroom within a national homeschool academy that provides instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. The position is hourly and approximately 13–14 hours per week. Childcare and nursery care are provided. No teaching certification or formal teaching experience is required. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors receive training in instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. Teachers must prepare for classes at home and arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church, have a deep love for the Catholic faith, and live the faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to their state in life. All staff must complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching. No additional vacation days are given; accommodations are made for sick days as needed.
Requirements
- Able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
- Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
- Strong communication skills, good organization, and timeliness.
- A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
- Complete a clear background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching.
- Willingness to prepare for classes at home.
Nice To Haves
- Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children.
- Experience with ministry in a Catholic parish or teaching Religious Education or Catechism classes.
- Experience teaching one's own children.
- Experience teaching in a classical or private school.
