About The Position

Regina Caeli Academy is seeking a part-time teacher for a 3rd Grade classical Catholic classroom in Charlotte, North Carolina, for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position is approximately 14 hours per week, with classes held Mondays and Thursdays from 8:50 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Instruction takes place in a formal Socratic classroom setting at a national homeschool academy in the Catholic tradition.

Teaching certification and formal teaching experience are not required. RCA provides curriculum, grading guidelines, tutor training, and instruction in classroom management according to its standards. Teachers must prepare for classes at home, arrive ready to teach in a highly structured environment, and complete required training videos before starting work. Childcare/nursery is provided. The hourly position does not include additional vacation days; accommodations for sick days are made as needed.

Requirements

• Deep love for the Catholic faith and ability to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
• Living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received the sacraments appropriate to one's state in life.
• Strong communication skills, organization, and timeliness.
• A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
• Willingness to complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training before teaching; all employees must have a clear background check.
• Willingness to prepare for classes at home.

Nice To Haves

• Standard computer skills, ideally with Google Suite or equivalent.
• Experience homeschooling or working with homeschool children, parish ministry, teaching Religious Education or Catechism, teaching one's own children, or teaching in a classical or private school.
