Cath Lab / IR Technologist-Cardiac Cath
About The Position
At Sherman Oaks Hospital, the Cath Lab / IR Technologist works under the general direction of a physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist). The technologist assists with diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures in the cardiovascular lab by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data. The role includes preparing the procedure room, monitoring levels of instruments and supplies, participating in staff meetings and performance improvement activities, and helping train new staff. The technologist assists with all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures. Sherman Oaks Hospital is a 153-bed, not-for-profit acute-care community hospital in Sherman Oaks, California, with over 500 employees. It provides 24/7 emergency care and specialized medical, surgical, and diagnostic services.
Requirements
- ARRT-R certification and license as required by the state, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
- BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained as current.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Proficient computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab.
- Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Assist with diagnostic and/or therapeutic cardiovascular lab procedures by scrubbing procedures or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data.
- Ensure the procedure room is adequately prepared.
- Monitor par levels of instruments and supplies.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
- Assist with training new staff.
- Assist in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
