About The Position

At Centinela Hospital Medical Center, the Cath Lab / IR Technologist joins a team committed to quality, compassion, and community. The hospital is a 362-bed acute-care facility serving Inglewood and the wider Los Angeles area, with advanced cardiac services and other specialty programs. Under the general direction of a Cardiologist or Radiologist, the technologist assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cardiovascular lab by scrubbing procedures and/or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data. The role requires certification to operate fluoroscopy/pan with a Fluoro CA license addendum. This is a per diem position with a variable shift.

Requirements

ARRT-R and licenses as required by the state.
BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and maintained as current.
ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
Proficient computer skills.
Certified to operate fluoroscopy/pan with a Fluoro CA license addendum.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab and/or Interventional Radiology.
Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities

Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures by scrubbing procedures and/or monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data.
Ensure the procedure room is adequately prepared for procedures.
Monitor par levels of instruments and supplies.
Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
Participate in training new staff.
Assist in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
Prepare the power injector and contrast medium.
Inject contrast during procedures and monitor injector rates and the quantity of contrast administered.
