About The Position

McMenamins Old St. Francis School is hiring a Catering Server to provide an enjoyable experience for guests and customers at privately catered and public events. Servers set up, run, and break down events ranging from small business meetings to large meals. They serve food in fine-dining and buffet formats, pour and serve alcoholic beverages, provide coffee and water service, wait on and bus tables, and respond to customer needs and questions.

The role also involves setting up tables, chairs, bars, and audiovisual equipment; checking IDs for patrons purchasing alcohol; resetting event spaces; restocking supplies; washing dishes; and general cleaning. Catering servers need to be comfortable with direct customer interaction, physical work, multitasking in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, and working both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• Obtain and maintain a current food handlers’ card.
• Obtain and maintain a current OLCC card.
• Enjoy working in a busy, customer service-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous related experience is preferred.
• A flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and multitask.
• Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, run, and break down catered and public events of varying sizes.
• Set up tables, chairs, bars, and audiovisual equipment.
• Serve food in fine-dining and buffet formats.
• Pour and serve beer, wine, and spirits.
• Wait on and bus tables.
• Check IDs of patrons purchasing alcoholic beverages.
• Provide coffee and water service.
• Reset event spaces, restock supplies, wash dishes, and perform general cleaning.
• Attend to customer needs, answer questions, assist guests, and maintain customer relations.
