Requirements

  • Three or more years in a sales role, with verifiable sales success.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and successful experience in catering sales generation, contract negotiation and pricing, event scheduling, training, catering, banquets and menu development.
  • Ability to work independently both on and off venue property with little supervision or oversight.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office programs with an emphasis on creating word documents, Excel spreadsheets, email); working knowledge of POS systems.
  • Ability to adhere to high standard of business etiquette, professional verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to consistently represent the Company in a professional, positive and knowledgeable manner.
  • Ability to adhere to highest standard of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce detail-oriented, accurate work.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and evenings, as required to ensure outcome.
  • Ability to travel to outside sales calls and/or events.
  • Proven ability to make solid, appropriate and independent decisions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

  • Making sales and obtaining contracts for the venue's 1,200 square feet of banquet and event space.
  • Generating revenue through booked business, prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and closing business.
  • Independently generating, managing, and coordinating outside catering sales.
  • Owning the full sales cycle: sourcing the lead, qualifying the prospect, conducting the site tour, negotiating terms, closing the contract, and retaining the account through reception and event execution.
  • Maintaining consistently positive and professional relationships with internal and external clients providing outstanding service, researching and resolving invoice questions, and offering knowledgeable menu recommendations that increase per-event revenue.
  • Facilitating the internal flow of information and communicating directly with guests and vendors.
  • Assisting with general catering operations as needed.
  • Generating new business by networking and prospecting with key decision-makers; establishing and developing strong, effective relationships with influencers through professional, courteous, and ethical interaction.
  • Independently sourcing, identifying, and pursuing outside networking opportunities through professional industry resources, community events, and special events attended by prospects.
  • Coordinating and delivering effective sales presentations and site tours that convert prospects into booked business.
  • Negotiating, authoring, and submitting finalized contracts and BEOs to clients and internal staff.
  • Maximizing occupancy and average revenue per event across the venue's 1,200 square feet of banquet space through upselling, strategic date management, and repeat-business development.
  • Maintaining an extensive client database and working it consistently for follow-up sales calls and contact (in person, phone, email, mail, etc.).
  • Maintaining accurate records of all catering sales activity, including pipeline, forecast, and booking pace.
  • Addressing or coordinating all catering requirements and requests in a timely and helpful manner.
  • Communicating daily with the Food & Beverage team about guest needs and expectations.
  • Serving as the primary group and convention contact once the contract is signed; approving of inventory or other changes and responding to questions or concerns promptly.
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of catered events as directed.
  • Following up on guests' experience at the venue, ensuring all issues have been addressed and positioning the account for rebooking.
  • Assisting with oversight of accounts receivable in conjunction with assigned events.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
