About The Position

The Catering & Events Coordinator manages and executes all aspects of catering and event coordination, from planning and setup through execution and breakdown. The role coordinates the efficiency of catered events within budgetary constraints, plans and books functions, ensures appealing food portioning and presentation, works with customers to discuss and price catering packages, and ensures services and programs comply with applicable regulations.

The position is based at Riderwood Village by Erickson Senior Living, a continuing care retirement community in Silver Spring, Maryland. The role requires restaurant or food service management experience that includes catering, computer proficiency, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and availability for some weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in restaurant or food service management, including catering experience.
• Proficiency with computers.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Availability to work some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the efficiency of catered events while adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Plan, organize, and book functions and events.
• Ensure proper food portioning and attractive plate presentation.
• Work with customers to discuss and price catering packages.
• Ensure that services and programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
