About The Position

Behind the Scenes is a premier catering company with 25 years of industry experience providing backstage concert catering in San Diego and across the country. The Catering Concert Server assists with backstage catering for touring and local crews and helps deliver exceptional hospitality. The role supports the seamless execution of catering events, maintains high service standards, and helps exceed guest expectations. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, communicates well, manages time effectively, acts discreetly, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to memorable guest experiences are important. The company frequently serves North Island Credit Amphitheater, Pechanga Sports Arena, Petco Park, Gallagher Square, and Frontwave Arena.

This is a part-time position with potential for 12–20 hours during peak concert season. Work hours are flexible and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts may be AM (5:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), mid (10:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.), or PM (3:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.). Pay starts at $20 per hour, with potential for a raise based on hours worked and performance. Requirements

• Currently possess or be willing to obtain a Responsible Beverage Service Training ID number.
• Previous food service industry experience, preferably in catering or banquet service.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dining room setup, including linens and/or décor.
• Assist with buffet setup according to the BEO and timelines, including transitions between meal services.
• Monitor and maintain the buffet, keeping serving utensils and service plates clean throughout service.
• Rotate and replenish chafing dishes periodically to keep them full throughout service.
• Set up and/or replenish beverage coolers throughout service.
• Set up and/or replenish snack stations, ensuring items are organized and displayed properly.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the event manager.
• Assist with cleaning and breaking down the event venue after the event.
