Catering Attendant (Full Time And Part Time)
About The Position
The Catering Attendant delivers and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the catering captain and ensures events are accurately executed during the shift. The position may involve driving a catering delivery truck. Duties include setting up and serving at functions, cleaning event areas during and after events, breaking down setups, leaving areas neat and clean, and returning leftover food and equipment to the catering facility in a timely manner. This role is based at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Full-time and part-time schedules are available, with days and hours varying according to catering events. The work supports AM, Mid, and PM shifts, and weekend availability is required. Periods of reduced or paused work may occur during educational breaks; these periods may be unpaid temporary layoffs. Depending on business needs, year-round work may be required, potentially at another location during breaks.
Requirements
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid food handler's permit and/or alcohol server's permit where required by state law.
Nice To Haves
- Prior serving experience is preferred.
- A valid driver's license may be required.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and deliver food and supplies for catered functions to their scheduled locations.
- Log and maintain food temperatures.
- Arrange tables and decorations.
- Arrange buffet tables with food, beverages, and service items according to standards.
- Serve food and beverages to guests.
- Clean the location thoroughly after events.
- Return food, beverages, serving equipment, and utensils to the catering facility.
- Distribute and collect customer comment cards for catered functions.
- Stock, clean, and maintain the catering facility and equipment.
- Provide friendly and courteous service to guests.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the complete menu and products on hand.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
