About The Position

Responsible for patient food service on assigned units. Duties include menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pickup, responding to special requests and needs, and delivering food between meals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations to patients, families, and associates.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to compute ratios and percentages.
• Ability to operate the hospital’s admission, discharge, and transfer system and other computer-based systems that manage patient-care records.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written or oral instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
