About The Position

The Catch Crew Lead is responsible for leading a team of catchers, ensuring all animal welfare guidelines are followed, and performing catch crew duties. This role involves setting up cages, opening doors, walking birds to reduce DOAs, picking up strays, and assisting with catching birds. As a chicken catcher, the individual must catch a specific number of birds and use proper placement techniques. The lead also assists the supervisor by completing paperwork when needed.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver's license (Good driving record).
Must be able to read and write English.
Must be able to acquire and put on all required PPE (Safety glasses, safety vest, gloves (optional), arm sleeves (optional)).
Perform routine stretches before starting daily duties.
Walk the house (bed the birds).
Wait for cage to be set on blocks.
Open cage door.
Catch correct amount of birds.
Load birds in cage one hand at a time.
Repeat process until cage is full.
After proper amount of birds placed in cage, shut the cage door.

Responsibilities
