About The Position

The Catch Crew Lead is responsible for ensuring all catchers follow animal welfare guidelines and works as part of the catch crew. This role involves assisting with setting up the cage block, opening doors, walking birds to reduce DOAs, picking up strays, and catching birds with proper placement techniques. The lead also completes paperwork when covering for the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license (Good driving record).
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Must ensure all catchers are following all animal welfare guidelines.
• Catch certain number of birds and know the proper placement techniques with birds being put into the cages.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all catchers are following all animal welfare guidelines.
• Work as part of the catch crew.
• Assist with setting up the cage block.
• Open doors.
• Walk birds to help reduce DOAs.
• Pick up strays.
• Assist with catching birds.
• Catch a certain number of birds and know the proper placement techniques.
• Acquire and put on all required PPE (Safety glasses, safety vest, gloves (optional), arm sleeves (optional)).
• Perform routine stretches before starting daily duties.
• Walk the house (bed the birds).
• Wait for cage to be set on blocks.
• Open cage door.
• Catch correct amount of birds.
• Load birds in cage one hand at a time.
• Repeat process until cage is full.
• After proper amount of birds placed in cage, shut the cage door.
• Complete paperwork when covering for the supervisor.
