Cat Sitter
About The Position
The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat-sitting visits while clients are away in the St. Louis, Missouri metro area. This flexible, part-time independent contractor position lets sitters set their availability and service area, with clients matched to them. Sitters care for cats, help pet parents travel with peace of mind, and may build relationships with repeat clients. Services include drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes (one to three times daily), extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours, overnight stays of 10 hours, and 24-hour live-in care with overnight care. Visits generally occur while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.
Requirements
- Experience caring for cats, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
- A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.
Nice To Haves
- Experience administering oral medication, injections, or fluids.
- Availability on weekends and holidays.
- Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening visits.
Responsibilities
- Feed cats and refresh their water.
- Clean litter boxes.
- Provide playtime, affection, or companionship according to each cat’s personality.
- Send visit updates and photos through the app.
- Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
- Bring in mail or packages when requested.
- Adjust lights, blinds, or trash and recycling when requested.
- Administer medication when within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
