About The Position

The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat sitting visits for clients in the Baltimore, MD metro area. Sitters work independently, set their availability and service area, and are matched with clients. This is a flexible, part-time independent contractor position focused on caring for cats and helping pet parents travel with peace of mind while building trust with repeat clients. Services include drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, generally one to three times daily; extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours; 10-hour overnight stays; and 24-hour live-in care with overnight care. Visits may involve household tasks requested by clients. Weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Requirements

Experience with cat care, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Strong written communication skills.
Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.
Availability for holidays and weekends is sought; morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Experience administering oral medication, injections, or fluids.

Responsibilities

Feed cats and refresh their water.
Clean litter boxes.
Provide playtime, affection, or companionship according to each cat’s personality.
Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
Bring in mail or packages when requested.
Adjust lights or blinds, and manage trash or recycling when requested.
Administer medication when it is within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
