About The Position

The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat sitting visits for clients in the Westchester County, NY area. This flexible, part-time independent contractor position lets sitters set their availability and service area, and the company matches them with clients. Sitters care for cats while their clients are away and help pet parents travel with peace of mind while building trust with repeat clients.

Service types include drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, typically one to three times daily; extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours; overnight stays of 10 hours; and 24-hour live-in care with overnight care. Most visits take place while clients are traveling, so weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable.

Sitters are paid per visit, with rates typically starting around $20 per 30-minute visit and higher pay for longer visits, overnight care, and house sitting. The role also offers weekly direct deposit, bonus opportunities, and tips paid in full to the sitter.

Requirements

• Experience with cat care, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
• Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
• A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.

Nice To Haves

• Experience administering medication, including oral medication, injections, or fluids.
• Availability on holidays and weekends.
• Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening visits.

Responsibilities

• Feed cats and refresh their water.
• Clean litter boxes.
• Provide playtime, affection, or companionship based on each cat’s personality.
• Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
• Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
• Bring in mail or packages.
• Adjust lights or blinds and handle trash or recycling when requested.
• Administer medication when within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
