Cat Sitter
About The Position
The Comforted Kitty is seeking reliable, responsible cat lovers to provide in-home cat sitting visits for clients in the Reno / Sparks, NV metro area. This flexible, part-time independent contractor position lets sitters set their availability and service area, with clients matched to them. Sitters provide care that helps pet parents travel with peace of mind and may build relationships with repeat clients. Services include drop-in visits of 30, 45, or 60 minutes (one to three times daily), extended daytime visits of 2–8 hours, overnight stays of 10 hours, and 24-hour live-in care with overnight care. Weekend, holiday, morning, afternoon, and evening availability is especially valuable because many visits take place while clients are traveling.
Requirements
- Experience caring for cats, especially in a pet-sitting capacity.
- Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Comfort working independently in clients’ homes.
- A smartphone with reliable internet access and a camera.
Nice To Haves
- Medication experience, including oral medication, injections, or fluids.
- Weekend and holiday availability.
Responsibilities
- Feed cats and refresh their water.
- Clean litter boxes.
- Provide playtime, affection, or companionship based on each cat’s personality.
- Send visit updates and photos through the company app.
- Follow each client’s detailed care instructions.
- Bring in mail or packages.
- Adjust lights or blinds and handle trash or recycling when requested.
- Administer medication when within the sitter’s experience and comfort level.
